This Privacy Policy explains what information Cool Story Who? collects, how it is collected, why we use it, and which companies we share it with when you use the app.

What We Collect and How

• Voice recordings — the audio you record in the app when you use the voice feature.
• Text — text associated with your recording and the results generated for you.
• Account identifiers — if you sign in, your email and a user ID from your Apple or Google sign-in; if you continue as a guest, a randomly generated device ID. Collected directly when you sign in or first open the app.
• Purchase and subscription status — whether you hold an active subscription or token balance. We do not receive your full payment card details.

We collect this information directly from your use of the app — when you record, sign in, or make a purchase.

AI Processing & Companies We Share Data With

To generate your results, your voice recording and text are processed by the following third-party providers, each only for the purpose listed:

• ElevenLabs — voice and audio processing.
• OpenAI — text processing.
• RevenueCat — subscriptions and in-app purchases.
• Supabase — account authentication and data storage.
• Apple and Google — in-app payments.

These providers process your data only as needed to perform the function above. Before your first use of the AI voice feature, the app shows an in-app notice naming these providers and asks for your agreement to send your recordings and prompts for AI processing.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Why We Use It

We use your data to generate your voice and text results, play and let you save or share them, keep local history, manage your account, and process purchases.

Retention

Generated audio may be stored temporarily on our backend or locally on your device. You can delete local history inside the app, and you can delete your account and associated data from the app (settings → delete account). Backend retention may vary depending on hosting, storage, and operational needs.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 13. Do not use the app if you are not old enough to consent to this policy in your region.
